As some of you may know, there are quite a few members that have unicode characters within their names. However, very few posts actually HAVE unicode in them to begin with, even when they try to put it in. A part of the problem has to due with what seems to be a site-wide "default" character encoding style (in this case, Western ISO-8859-1).

Granted, I managed to "beat" the system a little bit by changing my encoding to UTF-8 before I made my most recent post, but every time I visit a new page or revisit an old, it changes back to ISO-8859-1, which I don't like. Is there any chance that there is NOT a site-wide default and let us use our browser's default encoding?

Anyway, that's my 大見解 on the issue.

NOTE: Please use UTF-8 to actually read this post.
