hey yall, i d/l stepmnia and i d/l a song and its in the song folder under SM but it doesnt show up on the game. does anybody know what i did rong? can anybody help me?

Sounds like you didn't read the Stepmania readme. Anyway, it seems like you didn't put the song in a category. Here's an example of what it should look like.

Stepmania/Songs/Category/Song Folder/

Category is pretty much how songs are sorted, and can be named anything (DDR Originals, DDR 2nd Mix, etc) and the contents are in the Song Folder are where the individual files (song, dwi file, banner, bg) are held in.

yes, then inside that "ddr extreme" folder, you must have folders for each of your songs, and in those folders are the files for the songs, like the mp3 and dwi/sm stepfile files.

inside that folder, do you have files that have endings like .mp3, .sm, .dwi, and .png?

hey guy. anything that ends in .smzip, .zip, .rar, you gotta open. They are compressed packages containing the files you need. Since you are stumped even on the .zip part, i guarantee you have been using computers for not very long.

Note that I said individual files, meaning seperate files, and a zip/rar file was never mentioned.

ok i get that you have to open it but when i try to open it it says widows cant open this file. so then it goes to internet explorer and does all this stuff. so my question now is. how do you open it?

Grab WinRAR. Having RAR files on your computer without WinRAR is like suicide.
