WTF....Stepmania wont load now...

last night, i updated my sound and video card drivers and now when i open stepmania, it says initializing hardware, and it wont load from there....help?

You'll probably have to uninstall and then reinstall Stepmania. Worked for me when I had to put DirectX back in.

If you think it might delete your profile settings, it won't.

This is weird... I had the same exact thing happen yesterday, and I didn't do any system updates. Maybe some of the old betas have a built-in expiration date? I updated to RC2a, and that one works ok.

Well this problem was discussed on GF a few days ago when it was a problem and we figured it was due to 2004 being a Leap Year.

I had this same problem on new year's eve! I tried restarting my computer and everything, but it didn't help so I figured I'd reinstal it later. For the time being, I just used DWI.

When I went back on Jan. 1st, the problem simply disappeared. I have no idea what happened.

PS - I tried to install some updates myself, but they ended up not even working. Perhaps that had something to do with it.
