I recently found out that the reason I have had trouble breathing for a long time is because I have a sinus infection for about 2 years... That got me thinking about some things.
Everyone knows how you start breathing heavy when you're tired and short of breath. Obviously I start feeling like that after lotsa of DDR as well.
But, my friends have seen this many times; I play a hard song, such as Legend of Max (Heavy) and I get something like a 300 combo, but then I have to just completely stop and fail out of nowhere because my legs start to feel heavy and I get muscle pain which I can only endure for so long.
the question: Could that have something to do with my breathing? Is it possible that once the infection goes away, my ability to breathe better could help more air circulate throughout my body, therefore giving my leg muscles more air while in motion. If that were to happen, wouldn't that make them last longer when I play difficult 10's like I mentioned earlier.
Thanks to anyone who can give me information... I'm not so great with science _________________

it probably does have some thing to do with breathing better, but i can't specifically answer your question. but i also have the exact same problem, but im not sure if i have a sinus infection. because i used to be able to pass max300 with a consistent B. but once when i went to the arcade i had a 219 combo and then my legs got tired and felt heavy, and i failed out of no where. _________________

the sudden leg pain probably means that either you mess up some muscle every time you play, or more likely a lack of oxygen to muscles. i really know very little about sinus infections, but it seems like you need to do something about it soon. muscles need oxygen to function. the muscle pain after playing is due to a build up of a certain kind of acid in the muscles, due to lack of oxygen, the name of the acid escapes me. |

lactic acid, evans. Anyways, I think it could possibley be an oxygen problem. I would also recommend eating healthier, or at least drinking more water and less sugary drinks (such as soda, kool aid, many juices, etc.). You may benefit from stretching also. Here's what I recommend: Drink some water before and during playing and stretch for a couple minutes prior to playing. It helped me a ton during football, so I think it might work. Report back with your results, if you decide to try this. _________________

this kind of question belongs to gameplay
