Howdy guys.

Well I've just got one of these from ebay. (UK)

It looks very similar to one mentioned in TX-1000 thread:

I saw a metal pad that seemed fucking familiar to this one/model and it could be purchased at ChannelBeat for $100.

I'm using it on Xbox (Stepmania) using a £12.99 PS->XBox/GC conveter than seems to do the trick. Purchased at my local gamestation

Ask you can see from the pics it's a clone of something... and tagged in the lower left with the 'mengo' logo

There are only 38 feet on the underside and it has features a select & start buttons on the upper front edge - that can be pressed with a heal.

Model number: MP10
It lights up, which it nice!!biggrin.gif

The adapter seems to be great, as pressing up/down at the same time works and I don't think there is any delay! It seems fine with a normal PS controller so my poor scoring is down to:

a) I've never used an arcade DDR machine shocked.gif
b) I had a soft xbox mat for about an hour!
c) I've never stepped on another metal mat !!!!!

So no wonder I'm finding it hard to get above a C in the easiest levels ponder.gif

Only negitive so far is that it doesn't seem to understand using the 6 button config. (i.e X & O) but I wouldn't normally, and ain't skilled enough to use it anyway!

Anyway pic of adapter:

Build quality is bit 'made in china'. I broke one the rubber feet off by sliding it in/out from under the bed - it was a tight fit - and having undone the stud screw I can't get it back into the hole. Somewhat because the screw thread has the remains of ripped rubber upon it and due to screw hold not quite lining up with the outer hold.
The base unit is one big piece with top 9 separate squares, the center is had a firmer feel than the outer ones hence making it easy to find underfoot. - It not designed to consumer taken apart, and comes shipped in a large box with flim on the front side squares and a protective polystyrene cover.

A final pic..

Sorry for the poor quality - taken using a camera phone!!

Any queries/question/comments I'll do my best!

How STURDY is the thing? Does it flex and feel like it's made out of plastic, or does it have a nice solid feel to it?

Looks alot like the BNS pad... no border around it....

I'd ask you to compare it to your soft pad for accuracy, but being a beginner makes things difficult.

Other than that, glad you like your pad. Nice ^^

Well it seems fairly good. I spend an hour or so playing today and it didn't move and pads flex a bit when you step on them - tho this is what I expect from the acrylic coverings. Much better to play on than my soft xbox mat I had!!
