Why is it that 95% of faqs and walkthroughs, and this site's song list, have totally incorrect song difficulty ratings? Do I live near a newer machine or something? Does everybody else in the world have a different extreme machine than me? I don't get it. I mean, the thing looks real, it says right on it Extreme, but the difficulty ratings are way different.

Edit:

A quick 2 minutes check and I noticed these:

Dynamite Rave B4 ZA Beat Mix Challenge Doubles = 8
Kakumei Challenge Doubles = 8
Matsuri Japan From Nonstop Megamix Challenge Singles & Doubles = 7
Wild Rush From Nonstop Megamix Challenge Doubles = 8
Rhythm And Police Heavy Doubles = 9
End Of The Century Heavy Singles = 9
Drop Out Heavy Singles = 9
Paranoia KCET Heavy Singles = 9

The numbers are what the machine that I am not imagining and actually exists says, and the numbers on this site and 95% of blah blah already said this, says totally different...and I just edited this again, because I stopped in the middle of a sentence... I'm tired tonight frown.gif

I can't speak to all of those, but Paranoia KCET and EotC used to be 8's, and now they're 9's; that could be the root of the confusion.

So wait, what does your machine say?

Those sound like the correct difficulty for Extreme...

In 2nd Mix, the highest difficulty available was an 8, so the Paranoias were only 8-footers back then. Some of their stepchart ratings got revised upward later when higher difficulty ratings were made available.

Other songs had their stepcharts revised simply because Konami reconsidered the ratings.

We're most likely inconsistent as to whether we use the old ratings or the new ratings.

If someone would be so kind as to provide a complete list of inaccuracies, I can dupe the song entries and fix the errors.

I'm moving this to SF since it is pertinent to how we handle our stepcharts/difficulty ratings.

Nope. Your version of Extreme has the scores you noted, correct? Those are accurate (for Extreme).

Also, the paranoia (eternal) and Cutie Chaser(MM) stepcharts from extreme are the same as the 5th mix and Oha Sta!/max1usa step charts, respectively.

Yeah, I can fix that, but I need this addressed in the Stepcharts thread, as I don't have the DWIs myself.
