Ahem. I am just clearly not seeing the problem some people are having with their pads and DDR Extreme for the US PS2. I can play with no problem, while other people are just saying that they simply won't buy Extreme because their pad's corner buttons activate while playing.

I have MAX 2 and Extreme, and I have not had a single problem like this. Does the majority of DDR Freak have big feet, or what? E19.gif

It's just people's playing styles.

Like Baka said, it comes down to your playing style. For example, if you're used to hitting the steps with the balls of your feet, and have enough accuracy to always hit the center of the arrow panels, you'll have no problem at all. However, a lot of people play flat-footed, which increases the likelihood of stepping outside the arrow. This problem is compounded by the fact that it's fairly easy to "lose your center" when you're playing on Heavy; especially on softpads where there's no way to tell, just by feel, if you're stepping completely inside the arrow or if you're hitting the adjacent corner buttons as well.

this is especially true with flat footed players doing crossovers. flat footed players tend to hit around the center of the down arrow with their heel, and if they turn that sideways, their toe will hit one of the nearby corner buttons, possibly setting off the up or left arrow early. this can effectively screw a flat foot player by giving them a boo or a good from the early hit.
