|
|
i've tried everything from putting weights on the corner buttons to editing the doubles play settings to banging my head into a wall. these random almosts and misses i'm getting are driving me crazy. after reading the extreme thread and finding nobody giving out a solution, i though it important i ask the question: is there a way to get around the lack of dance play settings in DDR:EX USA?
and no, i'm not buying a konami official pad.
edit:
This problem has been solved! thank you to folgersnyourcup for the solution. i have a tutorial which you can check out that will teach you how to mod your pad to work in DDREX US! go here:

Put a piece of cardboard in between the panel and the sensor like there is under the middle pannel on the CF pad. Then you can step there on the corners and they will not activate.
But still, it was idiotic not to include the dance play option on this mode. Just horrible. |

WHY is the dance play settings option not there? How could they do this? Whatever the reason, this is very bad news. I know I would be extremely ****ed off!
Anyway, I THINK I could make a simple codebreaker code to fix this. But I don't have the game and I'm not buying it. I've fixed problems like this before; an example would be in Disney mix - When you turn the controller off via options, it didn't work in doubles mode! The X/O etc buttons still worked on 1 or both sides (I can't remember).
It Only took a few minutes to fix, but thats on PS1, where I have better resources

I just brought this game home from the store and own a CF pad. The lack of a dance play option is terrible. It seems BAFFLING that DDR Ultramix 2 is implementing this option that was unfortunately absent from the original Ultramix, while the PS2 DDR Extreme has dropped the option. Mission mode is an absolute joke and SUCKS due to this. The putting in of cardboard as I mentioned earlier in this thread does work but it's a pain in the buttocks. And soft pads with the buttons in the corners are pretty useless as well due to the no dance play option. I am very pissed about this. |

i made a quick little tutorial with pictures about modding your pad with carboard to solve the corner button problem. i like this mod best because it raises the corners, making my CF pad feel more like an arcade pad. to see the tut, go here:

Problem's been solved. I'd recommend this be posted in the Extreme thread if it didn't already get posted in the time it took me to type this sentence. _________________
