Hi, i'm new to the sim STEPMANIA for the computer. I just downloaded it, but i am a newbie, so i was confused when i turned to no music on it. How do i get music for the game and will it come with steps? TY!

ok ill help u out (eventho i was no noobie when i started with stepmania)
ever heard of DDR UK? go to ddruk.com <---go there and become a member its free then go to the downloads center, pick show catagories from there i think u can handle it if not give me a pm k? itll have tons of songlists

ok, you download the song as a .zip file.

extract the zip file into

Program Files > Stepmania > Songs>Folder of your choice

Folder of your choice is a folder you need to create in the Songs folder. Just name it Originals, for simplicity sake.

So that would mean, your extracting into...

Program Files > Stepmania > Songs>Originals

Inside Originals, there should be the song folder. It will contain the song, art and stepcharts

re open stepmania and play the song!

OK, i just downloaded it, and it didn't do anything! It just showed a folder and then said something about picozip. i know u have to pay for picozip, so wat do i do?

I promise...if I had a dollar for every time I posted this, I could buy my second CF.

All of your songs will be inside of their own folder. For example, the song 1998 will be in a folder called 1998, along with the dwi file and background and banner images. Each song folder goes in whatever group/mix folder it belongs in, so the 1998 folder should be in a folder called DDR 8th Mix (you can use whatever naming convention for the mix folders you are comfortable with). Each group/mix folder just goes in your Songs folder. So, the path to the song 1998 on my computer looks like this:

C:\Program Files\Stepmania CVS\Songs\Dance Dance Revolution 8th Mix -Extreme-\1998\1998.(mp3, dwi, png)

If you have any other problems or questions with Stepmania, use the sticky.
