|
|
More and more, I go down to the DDR Extreme machine at the local mall...and especially now after the summer break....I feel that I am losing more and more interest in the machine.
This is likely due to all the trash talkers and elitests that are now hanging by the machine and taking up a home next to it.
It is literally hours of people just hanging around the game, seated in no particular order (Yes, I know about the all so special coin line that is our Way appearantly) and basically look down their nose at anyone that wants to have fun on it.
I want to have fun now. But it seems all I can do is play at home to get the satisfaction of playing...and not having to wait an hour to do it. |

well, you could try to play, and if they insult you or give you a hard time, just simply ask them, what their problem is. Go at it slowly. You shouldn't care what other people think. You're only there to have fun and if they still give you a hard time... KIK EM IN DA BAWLS!!1! *cough* |

There'll be jerks everywhere. There's nothing you can do about that. But there's something you can do about them annoying you. Ignore them, for one. If they can't get to you, it'll drive them crazy. If the worst they'll do is look down at you, then you have nothing to worry about. If the "annoyance" turns into threats or verbal/physical abuse, then tell the arcade owner about it. And fast! Don't worry about idiots berating you for that, those people are just desperate for attention. Just as those elitistic players are.
Funny thing is: they'll lose interest faster than you did. _________________

well...one thing that I can say is welcome to the real world...in the real world there's going to be jerks in whatever you do...whether it comes to DDR to having to handle with that jerk being your boss, like everyone has said on this thread, ask em' what their problem is, and if you get an answer, work off that, if you don't just do your thang, just have fun and ignore those f@gs... _________________

I am rather fortunate to be living in an area where I have multiple locations (like about 5 or 6) to go to within reasonable driving distance (20 - 30 minutes away). That's how I cope the with the elitism... I go elsewhere; but not disappear from a place completely. |

I really don't have the problem of elitists in my area because most of the DDR players are all friends so I can't really say that I've lost the fun of DDR. If someone was trying to trash talk me I'd tell them to chill, I mean it's just a game. _________________

DDR shouldn't get boring until you've achieved the AAA! (Which is what I'm trying to do on every song that's not a 10). _________________

Ignore the idiots. If they think they're too "leet" for you to be playing on the machine, then they aren't part of the DDR Community. They're just as bas as those hecklers who make fun of people who play DDR. (And could very well be the reason people DO make fun of the game sometimes...) I mean...They think they're better than you just because they're good at an arcade dance machine? Just smile at them and be all "Who exactly is the pathetic one here? The n00b who is having fun, or the Heavy player who takes the game way to seriously?" and if they give you trouble...go to the arcade manager. They'll know what to do. _________________

If your getting bored try challenging yourself more. You'll be suprised.
Hell, I played singles...got bored, I played doubles...got bored then thought "hey i wonder if it's possible to play vs by yourself?" so I started doing that!!!
It was fun and is still fun to do once in awhile to see newbs jaws drop. I managed to get a couple Quad A's as I call them on Playing VS By Myself(PVBY) Light. It's when you get 2 AA's on 1 song, 1 AA on each pad.
If I can find someone to tape me doing it i'll post the video on my site.
Now i've been playing doubles alot lately and when I get bored of that i'll play singles. Alway's keeping myself busy doing different things in the game is how I keep from every being bored.
One time I even got bored of PVBY Light so I decided to put the player 2 side on mirror, dark and the 1p side on reverse dark. It's as close to Pump It up as you can get on a DDR Machine!
Just watch out for the 3 jumps where you'll have to stretch your left leg to the left arrow on the 1p side and your right foot to the right arrow on the 2p side and jump 3 consecutive times! It can be a killa! _________________

I'm usually by myself playing.. although I do hang with regulars at various arcades. I keep my interest by bouncing from one place to another during the course of the week. |

Yeah, I hate people like that. Taking the fun out of DDR. But the best way to cope is to ignore them, since they aren't worth your worry. |
