I need to buy a new pad, but what kind(not metal) is best?

Right now, I'm doing heavy with 9 difficulty. (can't do 10 yet...) on my ps2. I have a set up with one of the bad original pads that is taped down to a board of wood. It works surprisingly well, but It's heavy, bulky, etc. I have the money to buy 2 ignition pads (only like 40 bucks on ebay) since those seem the best out right now, not counting the 160 dollar metal pads (no way).

I'm wondering what are the other good pads besides ignition, and also if ignition is actually good. Does it slip at all? tear?(i play in my socks) will it work on carpet and wood?

I got my Ignition last Christmas, and it still works just about as good as when I got it. I play it on carpet and it works fine, don't know about other surfaces.
