I just bought a brand new Ignition DX soft pad (this is almost irrelavent, but I put it in here so people won't ask what type of pad I'm using!) that came with a free computer adapter. Right away I hooked it up to the computer, very eager to play. I found that the pad was all that I expected it to be! I was content in my purchase. That evening I brought the pad down to my basement where I then hooked it up to my Playstation 2 and began playing away. Almost immediately I noticed poor responsiveness and my Boo count was flying through the roof compared to my good count. I have formed a theory that the PS2 itself is responsible for my extra boos. It is still just a possibility, but I ask you fine people to tell me your stories as well. Similar problems maybe? |

Nope, I don't think your pad is messed up, I think it's your PS2.
I have an Ignition Pad V2 myself and it works fine... (got it off ebay) maybe the controller port of your PS2 is messed up and not the entire system. _________________

Interesting, I will take some alcohol and clean the port and I will try the control idea too. I have been putting alot of different controlers in there recently and transported the unit alot, so it could very well be dirty. |

Just a random thought: Could it be that the perfect window is earlier/later on the PS2 vs. your PC? If I misinterpret this, I apologize in advance, but since you talked about goods rather than perfects I am inclined to wonder if you haven't been playing the home version(s) long enough to know when to step in relation to the beat. If I'm off base, again, my apologies, but I'm just trying to come up with another idea in case the other ones didn't help. Anyway, if it does appear to be a timing thing, you can go into the PS2 game's options to adjust the timing offset. I believe most people suggest it be set to +2, but individual systems can vary on what the ideal setting is. Just something to try. |
