big problem!!!

omg, i dont know what to do, my sm has stopped working here the deal......when i double click on the shortcut toopen up sm it loads my songs and courses, but once it hits the point where sm is supposed to load up i get an error that causes the whole program to shut down, i tried reinstalling and everything no luck!!!!if anyone at all can give me any help ill be willing to try it thanx in advance

EDIT!! I think I know what the problem might be, i noticed that after reinstalling, there were quite a bit of files missing like in the data folder and stuff, but i have no idea how to insure everything installs correctly, my bigger question is why wuldnt everything install :$

Did you uninstall before you reinstalled? Actually the problem you are having sounds like it could be an issue with a theme or announcer pack; are you trying to use any?

no i was not using any announcers, and im using the default stepmania theme.

Make sure that you uninstall SM fully (try doing it manually) before reinstalling a new version. That shouldn't be a problem, but you've gotta try everything. Also, does SM actually give you one of its errors when the program crashes? The image you posted is just the Windows crash report message.

which version is it?
and where did u get it? because if u didnt get it from http://www.stepmania.com/ then it might be corrupt or have missing files.
