I have several questions concerning the DDR versions for DC. First of all, are the import games in English? I assume they are, but you never know. I looked on Ebay and it didn't say. Also, how do you find out whether or not your DC system can play imported games? I read that some cannot, but I don't know what the difference is. Are there any DC DDR games that are domestic? I could also use some advice on where to buy the game and the dance pads. Thank you very much!

I don't think there have been any DDR games for the DC in the US. And you can't play jap DC games on an American console. They differ between regions. But you can, and I don't condone, alter the insides so that is can play them. You can also buy a Pro Action Relay, I believe it's called. It's like a Game Genie, but it somehow lets you play jap games on an American console. Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Actually, some Dreamcasts don't need to be modded. Look around websites for information about which can and which can't.

I have both DC Dreamcast games, 2nd Mix and Club ver. I got 2nd mix off an eBay seller and Club ver i amazingly found at a games shop near uni which had been imported from Japan and was still in plastic wrapping :O Your best bet is probably to pick up both from eBay. As for dance pads...you CAN buy DC dance pads but it's probably better to buy (or if you have already) PS1 pads and a Playstation->Dreamcast converter, one with a VMU slot on it too is good. I had my dad pick these up in the US for me...haven't had any problems but i think maybe the converter lags the pad reaction just a touch...

The games and manuals are obviously not in English (IIRC the main menu actually is...but then i know katakana too well riiight.gif) but there are a few FAQ/walkthrus on the net that will help you out with translation. It doesn't really matter anyway it's quite obvious what to do the only time you run into language problems are if you try to read the Information menu or Edit the steps. But again these problems can be overcome by searching for FAQ on the net, i know at least one good one exists.

2nd Mix and Club ver are the only DDR games for Dreamcast and they are Japan release, there is no other release. So unless you have a Japanese DC you're going to run into region problems which can be solved thus: as mentioned before you can get a mod chip put in your DC or buy that Pro Action Relay thing mentioned. The other option that hasn't been mentioned is the Utopia Boot CD which is what i have been using to play Japanese/US games and have had no problems at all. Do a search on the net and you can find somewhere to download the software with instructions on how to burn it and then all you have to do is load it and disc swap. Simple, cheap and it won't wreck your machine happy.gif Love my DC
