Everytime anybody looks at my backpack they see the letters DDR, they ask, "What is that?" I respond the game in the arcade where people step on arrows." the person says, "yeah, I love that game I play all the time. I'm really good.

I say yeah, sure. poser. frust.gif
Then I say what's your max combo?
He says ummm.. what's yours"
I say, 292( I think)
He says mine is 202,,
Wouldn't he know what DDR stood for if he actually played? frust.gif

Perhaps the arcade that he goes to has a similar game such as pump it up as it also fits the description of a game where you step on arrows.

A lot of times I'll mention DDR to someone, and they'll be like "omg that game is gay." Then I ask if they've even played it, and they'll describe a scenario similar to them putting money into a machine putting on Heavy and trying HVAM. Then being like "OMG THIS SUCKS"

We don't have this game, he just wanted to look cool. I think he'd seen it played and wanted to be all COOL and POPULAR ( in front of his buddies)

Putting the letters "DDR" on your backpack does not make you cool in the DDR community, or outside of it for that matter.

Just thought I'd let you know.

I don't think he did it to be cool, just to show his support. Kinda like buying a sports jersey. You don't buy a sports jersey of Shaq and then go up to him and be like "hey, look at me, i'm so cool". No, nobody'd think u're cool, but at least they all know who your team is (Miami). Kinda like DDR and the backpack. At least everyone knows what he plays.

Does it really matter? So someone says they play, but they don't...does it honestly matter?

What makes you say this? I feel kind of put down now. Just because the letters "DDR" are on my backpack doesn't mean I think I'm cool. Besides, people in the DDR community probably won't see my backpack. I go to a school where I don't need to make myself COOL. Everybody I know who plays DDR at my school, doesn't care. So, why would it matter? Just posting this I'm wondering who you think you are.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Are your initials DDR? Because that's the first thing I'd assume if your backpack says DDR. Generally that's what people put on them. If someone asked you why your backpack says DDR they're probably in the dark about a lot more than an arcade game..

How do you think the guy felt when you put him down?

If he wanted to look "cool and popular" in front of his friends, I don't see any reason why you should judge him. Especially over something as petty as DDR. So what if he doesn't play the game, it really doesn't matter.

Because I don't care about what your friends think, I'm just telling you that having something like that on your backpack makes you look lame. I'm sure some of the other kids at your school would agree with me.

I'm trying to help you out because you seem to be unaware of this. There are other ways to support DDR, but by doing this it makes you look like a freak(pun intended laugh.gif).

But like I said, it's stupid to start a fight over something as petty as DDR. My goal here was to make you aware that making fun of someone over DDR is pointless, and to give you a taste of your own medicine.

Now you know.

Anyways, Bubblegum, you sure have a way of making yourself look stupid after you attempt to make others look stupid. Just thought I'd point that out. And besides, you're getting all worked up over a game...A silly arrow-stomping game. You ever thought about that?

I'm not really certain what planet you live on. But on this one, Earth, almost everyone that I meet has never even heard of DDR. Most people have seen it, but very, very few have a clue what it is.

So... try again.

I think rsvl_rookie was being sarcastic......
But anyway, on the subject, maybe the kid just wanted to make a friend. Maybe he was just trying to be nice and make conversation by asking what DDR stood for.... The first or second time i saw DDR I had known it only as Dance Dance Revolution, and when a friend asked if i played DDR i had no idea what she was talking about until she actually said Dance Dance Revolution. So maybe the kid had never heard of the term DDR but he knew what the game was, and maybe even played it once or twice.
Theres my 2 cents.

That was so good. Kudos ~Reign~, kudos.

Anyway what do you care if someone doesn't play DDR? It's none of your concern to whether or not they play. I learned this from being a total spaz when I started playing and talking nonstop about it and trying to get others to play it. They would say "Yeah I play it" but nothing seriously. Just move on, and stop calling everyone a DDR POSER! Dang 2 topics about it.
