yea,,coin line..
Or in other words to reserve your game. Saying that they're next on the machine. Suprised you've never seen one. or maybe you've never been at a arcade where they done that or at a pool hall. _________________

Maybe I'm not cool enough o be familiar with the term mook.
And lots of people here dont quite get the idea behind the coinline here. _________________

I once put a token up and the girls playing thought I was giving it to them. It was funny. _________________

This is sad. No offense ok?
But cmon! You dont know the coin rule for DDR?
Very simple. Put your coin on the screen to reserve your spot. Thats all to it. _________________

I hate it when people move the coins on the coin line, its soo stupid. At the place i go, we have an 8 spot holder. People tend to move the coins over so we forget where we are. You start from 1 to 8, then once you get to 8, and nothing is in 1, you put something in one! _________________

um...this is another kinda stupid question, but aren't all the coins for an arcade the same? so then how would we know who's coin is who? that would be tough to keep track of. _________________

That's the problem with coin lines.. they don't work. Over here in Syracuse, we just put the coins on the screen usually, after about 15 of them accumulate up there, it doesn't even matter, people steal the coins from up there and people always argue over who's turn it is. I think it would be a better idea to use some sort of ID instead. Or better yet, take a number. _________________

I find coin lines work fairly well if everyone is aware of the line. However, as soon as a new guy shows up, the line goes to poopy. I think place cards work best. |

Hence, when coin lines were big, people wouldn't necessarily use coins, but would have personal coin-sized markers. I had a great, now-useless metal pog slammer that I used as my marker. Anyway, I haven't seen coin lines much anymore since so many of the arcades have card swipes these days. Mostly we are just honest and considerate enough to make sure everyone gets their turn. Of course, I know it doesn't work that way everywhere. _________________

Uh...after awhile the coinline does get confusing...that's why it evolved to the cardline around here...even though cards take up much more space than coins (think average driver's license size or collectable card size) it just makes it clearer who's next and shows individuality...plus it's less likely of a chance someone will take a card than a coin for their own use. _________________

in vegas only about 2 ppl at a time place coins just so the current person will know not to put another dollar into the machine.
but i wonder, what happens to the coins there, do you take your coins back or just leave them there? i either take my coin if i need it, forget it there, or just leave it for anyone nosy enough to take it. do you take your coin back or leave it there, and do you take abandoned coins? _________________
