I sometimes go to a local DDR 4th mix (i know thats ancient, but its the closest one from where i live) machine in a narrow leg of a shopping area, with only a few other arcade games around and at low volumes making the DDR machine the loudest when somebody is playing. So I was playing it today, and was for the most part trying to step lightly, so it wouldnt get too loud. Then, I played something a little bit harder for me, My Summer Love on maniac, and had to start stomping during the 1/16th's near the end. One of the nearby owners of one of those "one shelf" stores in the middle of the shopping area came over to me and told me not to stomp so hard because it was loud. And.. I was still in the middle of the frickin song also. I finished it, and a little bit later I tried the same song and tried not to stomp during those 1/16ths, and ended up failing the song. frust.gif Is the location of this machine wrong? Or are there any of you out there that know of a DDR machine in a quiet place also? If anybody is wondering what machine im talking about its in Fairfield CA, Travis AFB's BX.

Most likely a bad location. The owner should have been conscious of the impact from DDR's sound output, both from the audio, and the stomping.

If it's a narrow strip, it also sounds like the place's geography wasn't anywhere near being a DDR-friendly spot.

You'll have to live with it as best as you can, sadly. You should talk to the owner or somebody though, maybe you all could work around the problem.
