This is LAN040. I was thinking the other day, wouldn't it suck to be in a wheelchair? Then you wouldn't get to experience the wonders of DDR at the arcade

. So, I was thinking it would be neat if the handicapped or disabled could have a finger controller or PS2 controller that would be compatible with DDR machines

. But of course to make this work, you must have some sort of hub or port on the machine where a controller could fit

. Maybe beneath the Memory Card Slots, there could be a controller port. Anyway, I just wanted to make a poll to ask if you guys think it's a good idea or bad. Thank you

Dance maniax PPP or any other bemani game would be more interesting to them, wont you think? I mean, the controller idea would work if they bothered to install the controller port into the memory card slot, but they left it out and put some metal over it. (Sony made the slots mind you).

well it would b kinda hard depending on the disability. if it hands or sumthin it would b ok but if it has anythin to do wit legs or feet ur screwed.

It's nice that you want to be inclusive and all...but I think this is kind of one of those things where it's not really needed.

Think about it...DDR has really only been all that well known for a couple of years. Anybody who was a fan of DDR, but then got disabled (AKA, the only ones who would miss DDR because of a disability), would still be so recently disabled that I'm sure DDR is the last thing on their mind right now - therapy after a major injury takes years.

And as for the people who have been disabled since well before DDR became popular, well...there are things in life a disabled person can't do, and most of them accept that. DDR is just one of those things. It doesn't make them bitter, or lonely, or angry, or anything. They just go off and find something else to do, that's all.

For example, I showed my paraplegic stepmother DDR once, and she seemed perfectly content to just watch me and cheer me on. She has expressed interest in how the game is played, and is a dancer herself, but has no resentment that I am able to play the game and she is not.

Like I said...it's a nice sentiment, but it wouldn't be worth the time or money to develop it, for such a tiny market.

(PS: That flash thing was really funny. XD I loved his voice in it.)

DDR memory card slots do have controller ports.
They just don't work.

I like ur idea. I think it would be intresting. But how many disabeled people would use it? I have a disabeled friend and she would rather draw, play PS2 or do something else, it would draw alot of attenton to disabeled people and most likely make them embarassed.
