I recently aquired a used MyMyBox metal pad from my older brother, who no longer uses it. Understandably, it was really beat up; screws were missing and internal wires were soldered and re-soldered. But this didn't really matter; it worked great, and was easy to fix if and when it broke.
However, very soon I noticed another problem. Occasionally, during play through DWI via an EMS USB2 adapter, with no reason or explanation, DWI would seem to freeze for a moment, and the pad would not respond for the next five or so seconds. Then it would play fine. I tried it on Stepmania; same thing. There appeared to be no mechanical reason for this.
A few days ago, I took it to a friend's house and played, and not once during the whole afternoon did it "hiccup", despite breaking on other accounts 3 other times. We used the same adapter and DWI. Moreover, the adapter had worked fine before for four months on a Red Octane Ignition. Come to think about it, this problem has only occured this afternoon (on every song I tried) and a little less on the day after I got it. My brother tells me this has never happened to him Understandably, I'm at a loss for what's going on. I can get about halfway through a song perfectly, but then it just freezes up.
Does anyone have any idea what could cause this?
