|
|
Hello again, and welcome to another one of my newbie question (specifically directed towards beatmania IIDX:
I have a ps2 right now, U.S. and was curious what are the different possibility i could do in order to get an import game to work on it. (sorry if this has been posted somewhere already)
Can gameshark, like ps1, be used to boot up the cd with a special code/key? --this is how i played import beatmania (non iidx) games
And if not, then modchips would be the only way to go (other than just merely buying a jap ps2). what are the newest mod chips, or most reliable, or strongest, etc, etc out there right now?
Ive been seeing some pictures of a "swap card and cd" method, and was curious for a review, anyone have experience with it?
Thanks a bunch in advance! _________________

Unless you have the money to buy a mod chip and then pay someone to solder it in (unless your soldering skills are quite good), the Fliptop/Swap Magic disc combo is really the best route. It's a simple replacement of the top of your PS2 with the cover that you get (takes all of 5 minutes), and then you just switch out the Swap Magic disc for the game. I'd bought 4 of them for myself/friends from www.modchipkits.com and they've been vary reliable. You'll want to get the Fliptop/Swap Magic combo deal. It's like $40, I believe. _________________
