I was wondering if there's a substantial GLBT (and others) population among DDRers. For those of you that don't know, GLBT stands for Gay/Lesbain/Bisexual/Transexual. GLBT (and others) meaning anything non-heterosexual.

Disclaimer: If you have come here to complain about sexuality, or how queers are constantly rubbing the fact that they're queer in your face, understand that that is not the purpose of this thread whatsoever. The purpose of this thread is to have people exchange demographic information, and to have intelligent discussion. If you are here to flame flamers, please leave.

[edit by JDogg: inline images outside of Imaging forum = nono.gif ]

The guy that did that deviantart is my friend Kevin (XY Male, Bisexual/Trisexual). Check out Norumu's Deviant Art.

Now where in the world is Asheville and what has this "a retard (who has commited several criminal offences aganst me and others)" done?

Man, it's no wonder people (for the most part, try around 69%) have an issue with radical gay people. Instead of playing a game, and letting it be a game, they just taint what they can. Too bad, I say.

Oh, and Just so I can get MY two cents in, I'm for the amendment to ban gay marriages.

That's right, call the ACLU

...then...why are you here?

I mean, the same thing could be said about DDR itself - it's just a game, so why do radical players congregate on forums and websites? There is a community, and knowing other members of your community is a good thing.

As for myself, uh...undecided. If something comes my way that I like, I grab it before it gets away, regardless of gender. But I only actively seek out guys.

Eh, let it pass. Feed the trolls, and they'll just get bigger.

For friends that I have found that are GLBT (and others) most of the men that call themselves "Gay" are actually somewhat bi, or have at least experimented some time in their lives, so nyssa, I wouldn't say you situation so uncommon.

BTW, what happened to listing Name, State, Town, Age, etc?

concidering that everyone is bi to some level, I'd say that's 100% of the DDR population.

The people that start shouting any time the subject comes up (not to mention anyone particular in this thread or anything) are just trying to reassure themselves that they're not since they're uncomfortable with the subject.

It's like a mother that won't let her kid go swimming because she is afraid of the water, even if the kid is actually an accomplished swimmer. It has nothing to do with anyone else, they just displace it onto the world at large because they're afraid to look at themselves.

Still though, it's a game... it doesn't really matter whether you prefer a plug over a socket, just that you love the arrows E13.gif

Dude(tte), I'm gonna' remember that quote forever! Props to you! thumb.gif

However, I must disagree that not all DDRers are somewhat bi. I have some very cool friends that DDR, and are cool with me and all of my straight friends, and all my GLBT (and others) friends, but have no interest in the same sex (or intersexuals) whatsoever. IMHO, it's a preferance thing. Some people wouldn't mind sitting down with their friends to watch a game of basketball, but they don't like playing it themselves. Does that make sense?

I don't see why this is necessary. There is a post called "homosexuality and DDR" that gets revived every once and a while which basically asks the same question. Also, it's not necessary to openly talk about your sexuality just because you are gay. That's the reason that the Ellen TV show died off right after she came out of the closet. It's not because people are homophobic, its because they replaced all the humor of that show with her talking about how she was gay. It's not like I go out and start a post about whether or not there are any straight ddr players out there. I, just like you, can assume that I am not the only one and leave it at that.

I say that, of course, with all due respect and with no particular dislike towards homosexuals, bisexuals or transexuals.

well, it's not that people go on about their sexuality...

A guy can talk about his girlfriend for hours, but if another guy says one thing about his boyfriend suddenly he's going on and on about his sexuality and rubbing it in everyone's face. Of course, the guy who constantly yaps on about how straight he happens to be is exempt from that sort of criticism. sarc.gif

I'm sorry, I don't see the point to this thread. So what if your gay, bi, tri, shemale, tranny, whatever. None of that matters to the arrows you stomp on. It's not like people are giving you shiet just because you're playing this game and you just happen to be gay. I'm not being negative about this issue, because I can care less, but don't be surprised if this thread gets locked due to the fact that there's already a thread like this.

The whole point of this thread is for GLBT people to get to know each other. It would be no different than opening up a "Who plays Street Fighter 3: Third Strike?" thread in the non music games board.

OMG you again? I bet you didn't read my whole post before making a reply, didn't you? DIDN'T YOU!?

Anyways, there's already a thread like this. It doesn't hurt to go find it instead of looking on the first 2 pages of the forum and then just making another one because they're too lazy to find it.
