moddifying a metal hard pad.

ok i have to questions, first quetsion is the DDR MAX 2 Konamix Dance Dance Revolution Metal Pad any good? is it worth my 100 dollers? or is their a better metal pad that i can buy for my 100 dollers?

and the second question is, how hard is it to mod a metal pad, i was thinking about takeing off the metal panals replaceing them with plexy glass and putting neons on the inside of the pad, (kinda like a pc mod) would that be possible??
