Perhaps i'm blind (and i am new to the forum so feel free to trash talk me if i am), but I didn't see an official GF thread. So I'm starting one.
What I'd like to know:
Is the game [i[that[/i] unpopular? I was recently introduced to the game at an arcade near Boston (word up Good Times!) where i used to live. I was instantly addicted, and played it more than DDR or any other game combined. I've searched far and wide for a website, a fan forum, info on machine locations, anything! And aside from a site here and there in Japanese (most of which seem to be outdated anyways), I found nothing. So, if you've ever played it, if you're a secret addict but don't want to admit it to your DDR buddies, or even if you just saw the dude playing it in Lost in Translation and thought it was cool, this is your chance to speak up.
Where can I play? I recently moved to Central Florida and can't for the life of me find one machine. There's DDR a-plenty, and even a half-decent Percussion Freaks machine at XS, but alas, no GF goodness. For the love of all that is holy, if anyone knows of one (or is wealthy enough to finance my addiction for as-yet-to-be-determined services rendered) SPEAK UP! thanks.
Can I buy it? As far as I can tell from what measly resources there are on the web, there was a home version for the Japanese PSX. However, it seems to have stopped at 3rd Mix. Seeing as how the arcade is up to at least 10th mix, this leads me to believe that Konami stopped supporting it long ago, and it would be a waste for me to buy the imported equipment necessary for me to play it.
Sorry if this borders on rant. I really do want to meet other folks who are interested in the game, and have a forum to compare scores and favorite songs and new releases etc. etc.
peace

1. Not where I play. Plenty of people prefer it over Drummania, where I'am. However around here, people tend to prefer Drummania over it. As far as bemani games other than DDR.... It's probably the most popular behind IIDX.
2. Check Machine locations.
3. Since I don't order online much, I'am unsure. If someone else knows, I'm sure they'll tell you....
Sorry if I wasn't much help. |

I own both PS2 mixes, so I'll answer
1. The game, some say, is considered the most unfun game in Bemani, due to the fact that some key presses are nigh impossible, but I think its a pretty fun game.
2. Try machine locations and check for other Bemani games at that arcade.
3. You can buy 4 Guitar Freaks games. Guitar Freaks, Guitar Freaks Append 2nd Mix (both for PS), Guitar Freaks 3rd Mix and Drummania 2nd Mix, and Gitadora! (GF 4th and DM 3rd Mix) (both for PS2). You can buy a cheap third party Topway guitar from Redoctane, but those suck, so buy a good Konami guitar from Toysnjoys. You can also find all the games at Toysnjoys or Play-asia or any other import store. _________________

1.GF is more difficult for beginner(hard to learn),probably that's why it's not as popular compare with DM/DDR/BMIIDX/Pop'n'M
2.Machine locations. +1
3.PS2->The latest version is DMGFV,but not for US version PS2
Or you can try to but a arcade machine from ebay or dealers |

Yeah, exactly.
There's a search option in the forums. You should use it. _________________
