I was wondering if anyone had any Kakumei sheet music for piano or knew where I could get some. That or any other DDR songs. Any help would be greatly appreciated. _________________

Kakumei is based off of Chopin's Revolutionary Etude.
You'll find sheet music for that before you find it for Kakumei. _________________

Pretty much anywhere you can find classical sheet music, you can find The Revolutionary Etude; it's a very famous piece. Besides, it's Chopin. _________________

Trust me, unless you guys are demigods at the piano, there is no fuggin way you can play The Revolutionary Etude. It's the craziest left hand excersize ever to come to mankind.
I don't know much about winter though... |

Revolutionary Etude is played in, "Live Action Sailor Moon". I thought it was pretty neat. _________________

The whole song seems to be an endless left hand arpeggio good luck playing that, man who teaches piano at school (hes got a doctorate in music) was asked to play it on 2 different occasions, I forgot what his answer was but he didnt play it. |

The Revolutionary Etude isn't that hard if you know how to play and have fast enough hands. Like DDR, playing the piano is really just a matter of practice. I'm pretty sure that if the original poster was asking about it, he probably felt like he had the skill to play it. _________________

In case you want some more specific information, I work in a music library at a college.
Kakumei is based on a Frederic Chopin Etude (The Revolutionary), Opus 10, Number 12. Originally it was for solo piano, DJ Taka and Naoki have taken the ridiculously fast left hand arpeggios and voiced them in synthesized strings.
I heard this piece performed by a piano performance major in our music department, and its officially ridiculous. After being used to hearing that tune in DDR, I was shocked to hear him play it about half as fast (and its still ridiculous at that speed). It would be impossible to play the entire piece for piano as fast as Taka and Naoki have "techno-sized" it.
Any sheet music selling store (such as Schmitt or Groth) should have this for you, if not you can order it.
If you're ungodly awesome at piano, then go ahead and learn this piece to impress damn near everybody, but If you're not as skilled as a piano performance major, don't waste your money, that piece is ridiculous.
Once again that's Chopin, op.10, no.12. (The Revolutionary Etude) |

Oh and some information about Winter...(known to DDR Freaks as V )
Winter is the last movement of Vivaldi's Die vier Jahreszeiten (Four Seasons) which are works for a String Ensemble (Violin 1 & 2, Viola, Cello, Bass, as well as a violin Solo). Taka (and Banya for PIU, though I'm not sure which did it first), have "techno-sized" it.
If you or any of your friends play string instruments, this one isn't nearly as difficult, or, if not, you could go to your friendly college music library and check out a score and a recording of the original version. From there, you could take the music notes from the score and simply play them on piano (though the 32nd notes might give you some trouble).
Sorry, I'm a music geek |

Bah! one more post!
Speed over Beethoven is based on Fur Elise (for solo piano) by Beethoven. This piece is incredibly easy, and you can hear 10 year olds play it at their piano recitals.
I'm done now...really |

Yes, Fur elise IS ridicoulously easy. Dream a dream uses hall of the mountain king, and sadly, A uses nothing, so no sheet music for it... |

The full piece is NOT ridicoulously easy. Most people aren't aware that the part that is widely known is not the entirety of Fur Elise... later in the piece, there are several parts which are fairly difficult, although still cake compared to Revolutionary Etude.
A isn't based on a classical piece?! I'd always figured it must be based off of something, although I never had any clue what it might be.... *sigh* that one is kind of disappointing. Anyone feel like attempting to arrange it for piano? _________________

Huh? In the absence of further info, it appears to be *your* post that is priceless.
Back to StompToYoBeat's question: "Kick the Can" is based on the "Can-can", part of the opera "Orpheus in the Underworld" by Jacques Offenbach. |
