sorry, i don't mean to sound arrogant, but something has been bugging me for awhile.

in the discussion about the PiU ad with the familiar tune playing in the background, to everyone who keeps saying how "V" was featured on the video and how it was so cool, i think we need to give credit to where it is due.

the piece is Antonio Vivaldi's "Winter" and while V may be very fun to play DDR to, it does not even compare to the profound composition that it is based on. I think everyone needs to recognize that V is just a tribute, at best, to this piece, and shouldnt consider the original piece as the same as V.

A lot of people know that V is Vivaldi's Winter, although I'm pretty sure you won't find many people that care. I agree with you that respect should be given where it is due, but V as a remix is still done very well, and giving props to DJ Taka for what he did with it is perfectly reasonable.

On another note, I had made a thread along a similar topic on a broader scale awhile back; there are a LOT of songs in DDR that are remixes or straight samples of other published music that no credit is given to the original artist. What I found is that most people on this site had not even noticed or had not heard the original songs; this is especially true of the classical song remixes (EOTC, SOB to name a couple). I'm just saying you shouldn't really expect that many people to care who they are giving credit to; that's just the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Guess what, it's opinion. I like V better than Vivaldi's music. 'Nuff said.
