I was wondering, I have a old PS2 where the cd drive doesn't work and I've been debating whether to get this fixed. I also recently came up with a new incentive to get it fixed possibly as we have the PC's downstairs and a nice big TV in the loungeroom upstairs and it's a pain to drag one up and down all the time.
Basically we came to the conclusion, if getting the Linux kit for the PS2 with the harddrive, if we could possibly install stepmania onto it and use that as an upstairs stepmania machine as it may be cheaper to do then to get an actual PC.
So is it possible to run Stepmania on the PS2 under 128-bit linux? Would I have to edit the source code to incorperate the different type of processor or would it just run fine under X Windows?

Ah, the age old question. Basically what the SM devs have said is that the PS2's hardware isn't capable of running SM at a playable speed. The most you'll get out of it is 1 or 2 fps. Something along those lines, anyway.
