I was wondering can anyone here actually dance off the ddr mat? I break dance a little and stuff but most people i see that are amazing at ddr have no idea how to dance

how does that work.

Well, DDR doesn't actually teach you how to dance, with the exception of freestyle - if your freestyle looks good off the mat, then it's actually a dance. But if you were to start DDRing on, say, a tile floor....to non-DDR music...around people who don't know what DDR is...they would just look at you funny. It's not real dance.

I can do some dance other than DDR. I can swing dance, and booty dance (

), and I'm taking bellydancing lessons soon, I think.

....I can imagine someone do matrix walk at a party using a chair and the wall.

Technical DDR is not really "dancing". WHen it comes to off-pad dancing, .... dont even ask. Sometimes if i try really hard i can rahyth like a dying worm!

i cant spell wraith/ryth/righth whatever it is (twisting oir contorting as if in pain)

I can't dance AT ALL, like NOT AT ALL, but I have kind of a funny story that's related to it.

I always talk about DDR at school (you know, cuz I'm obsessed

), and one of my friends was always saying stuff like "That's not real dancing." She was on the school Poms team, so she thought she was the premier expert on dancing. Sooooo I invited her over, and long story short, she failed every song she tried, until she realized she wasn't that good and went to beginner and light.

If u are good at ddr and can AA and AAA songs it means u have rhythm.
That's pretty much it.
