uhm...
where i am, ddr is still popular and ppl still play everyday. saying that ddr is "dead" would mostly be an opinion, where you live, and how the arcades are doing in that area u play in |

Well I live in a pretty unknown City and there are alot of kids playing DDR here. I don't think it died down. I think DDR is just getting up to speed. _________________

everyone at the arcade i go to is either doing 7's on standard(one person) or doing 8, 9, or 10 footers, so the only time i see someone doing beginner mode is when i'm the only person on heavy there(sundays, usually) but on half-price nights there are probably 10-15 heavy players there, and most of them do verses, so i don't complain about the line, and ddr is still relatively popular at the arcade i go to _________________

Sorry to burst your bubble, but DDR is dead. A new mix for the arcades has not been produced in almost two years, and the stuff for the consoles are just cheap rehashes that get little attention. Most of the people who were there from the beginning, have abandoned DDR. Why? Its time has passed, and all that could be done to it, was done to it. Now it's time to move on and find another hobby. Not to be completely negative, I lost 10 lbs. playing DDR, but my wallet was severly dented for the two years I did play. I'm also sure to experience knee problems in the future. But the real point is, DDR is just as dead as Pokemon are (as blunt a comparison as that may be). I put the last nail in the coffin a year ago, and hope that some way off into the future, many years from now, our children (who will be obese monsters) will have encounters with something like this, to rekindle the passions that many of us once had for it. _________________

does'nt this matter most? as long as you have fun?
either way I don't think it can ever fully die out because people will play it and end up mastering every song, and then maybe they will lose interest but there is allways someone new that is going to try and play and eventually they will pick up DDR, as long as the cycle keeps moving DDR will never fail.
And it's also important to pass it on. A friend of mine passed it on to me, I started playing and since then I have passed it on to a few others who are now crazy about it. |
