Hi all biggrin.gif

I use linux on my computer exclusively - no windows at all.

I've been looking into buying a metal pad, because I love playing ddr and would love to do so at home as well as the arcade E13.gif Now ... rather than waste money on a pad that's not going to work, I'd like to ask a few questions.

First of all, are DDR pads compatible with linux (with a playstation usb adapter?) Any idea on how to get them to work, or do I just need to enable usb input devices/joysticks in the kernel?

Does stepmania for linux work well and/or automatically with any connected pads?

Thanks!

The best sim to run with Linux is Pydance: http://icculus.org/pyddr/

It runs best out of all of them, and there are tons of play modes. It rocks. The only thing I am unsure about is if it has speed mods. It didn't when I played it afew months back...they may have changed that, however.

Cool, thanks E1.gif I'll definitely keep that one in mind.

Just wondering though - based on this page:
http://icculus.org/pyddr/manual.php#install.mat.ps2
I just need to get a USB adapter and then configure USB joystick support into my kernel, and it should work perfectly, correct?

Are there any little quirks or glitches with this?

Tested with Knoppix, worked fine with me.

Friend of mine uses it with the EMS USB Adapter from www.levelsix.com. This is also the adapter I own and it rocks. That website has great pads too.
