Well... I assume some people may have. But you should really play DDR for yourself, to beat your own goals. Not to show off or get money. You will live a longer and happier life (no, I'm not kidding). |

yes, i'm sorry to say i am a greedy lil' bastard and i have done that.
i went to the arcade at mall of america (minnesota) and put a can near the machine that said donations on it...
i freestyled my buttocks off for 3 hours, but was still courteous to others who wished to use the machine (like 4 guys for 15 minutes, i needed a break anyway)... anyway, over said time period, i made roughly $38 minus the amount of money i payed to play ($22)
so in the long run it barely paid off, i had fun, but the money wasnt really worth it |

People have given me tokens once in a while if I'm playing by myself, but I rarely go solo anymore, so that is nulled.

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

The Pokeball is the grandma and the smiley is SPIKER. Spiker is having fun panhandling, and his grandma hits him and sucks him up through her vagina.
Just overall panhandling while playing DDR is....Not exactly the best way to get money. Unless you do backflips or something of the sort. The three best ways to get money is by:
1. Getting a Job
2. Mooch off your parents
3. Go for the lottery until you die. _________________

I never ask for money from my watchers while playing. It's tacky and rude. |

hey, that sounds familiar.
In any case, a couple of times I've had people give me coin to play again. I wasn't even freestyling, nor was I all that good at the time - we're talking 7 and 8 footers. Both times were at Pinball Pete's in Ann Arbor, though, which just reinforces my belief that Ann Arbor's the best place in the world. _________________

Maybe if I could AAA PSMO or if I was a great freestyler, but the only entertainment my skill would provide is a good laugh. |

And mooching off of your parents is a great way to make a living...
There have been a lot of people who have used tip jars/hats in the past, some on a regular basis. Some make decent money, some never see a dime...it mostly depends on where you live. I've never done it because I don't see it being particularly profitable, and I have a job during the summer anyway. I don't see how it is tacky or rude, however...if people are impressed enough by arrow stomping to pay to watch it, that's their business. _________________

It acually sounds like a good idea. If one could make 15$ for doing something for 3 hours they would be doing anyways, why not? I'd also think that the fact the tip jar is there alone would get more people interested in watching you in the first place. Hmmmm, where can I go find a hat now...
Bleh, I only have one freestyle song and it isn't complete, I couldn't do that for 3 hours |

Some people do manage to make a living from winning tournaments. Not just DDR, but other games as well. Of course, anyone who knows what they're doing generally won't rely on it solely as a source of income. |

The guy at my local computer store went to an arcade in Vegas and freestyled, and he didn't care about the score because most spectators had no idea how the game worked and would just watch what he was doing. Sometimes tourists would come up and ask if they could videotape him to show their friends at home. He'd let them do it if they paid him $5 per song, and sometimes he could go a whole day in the arcade without spending a penny. _________________
