Are there are DDR songs in 3/4? If so, which ones?

Both Cutie Chasers. Holic is in 7\8 time, which means 7 beats a measure, and an 1\8th note gets one count. Which is why you can fit only 7 eighth notes in each measure, as opposed to the normal 8. It's the WIERDEST timed song in DDR.

It's been over a year since I've played DDR, but I seem to remember cutie chaser being in 6/4, not 3/4.

Oh, the 7\8 time is also the reason Holic Light has the 4 1\4, 4 offbeats rhythm. The 8 quarters wouldn't fit in the two measures, so he hads to use 4 offbeats...

Nah, it's 6/4. the percussion patterns and melodies fit a lot more if you count 6 instead of 3.

Then again, sections of Holic fit better to 14/8... >_<; It doesn't really matter, though, does it? I think to get a difinitive answer, you should check where the measure breaks in IIDX are happy.gif

Well in training mode, Holic has 7 eighth notes in a stream per measure. And Cutie Chaser and morning mix both have 3 1\4s per measure. So if it is 6 something, it would be 6\8, which, if I'm not mistaken, sounds the same as 3\4.

It does sound the same, although with 3/4, there's a subtle emphasis on every third beat rather than 6/8 when there's an emphasis every sixth beat.

I think the real difference is how it's written on sheet music.

Burning Heat and Heaven '57 are, if I'm not mistaken, both 6/8. All of the non-quarter notes are triplet notes.

Holic goes from 7/8 to 7/4. When it goes to the 8th note run after 8th note run that always starts and ends on the same arrow, that's in 7/4.

In response to the comment above, I BELIEVE Burning Heat is in 12/8, but don't quote me on that. I really suck at time signatures. I also think Heaven is a Metallic 57 gray is just 4/4 swung for the most part, but I'm not positive on that either. Maybe Burning heat was in 6/4. Quick, send in a music major!

Former Music Major to the Rescue! *theme song*

Holic also goes into 8/8 (4/4) in a couple sections. Burning Heat and bag are in 12/8. Heaven is a '57 Metallic Gray is in 4/4, just swung instead of straight 8th notes.

I need to listen to the Cutie Chasers again to see if they're in 3/4 or 6/4

*ending theme song*

I could be wrong, but I think I remember taking one of the Cutie Chasers into edit mode and it had 3 1/4 notes in each measure. But it was a long time ago, so I could be wrong.

I am also definitely sure it's in 3/4. If you take it into training mode, there are three beats per measure, and one quarter beat is getting exactly one count. It is therefore in 3/4 time.

6/4 and 3/4 sound virtually the same. The difference is in how it appears when it is written.
