Gaming Age has posted its promised article talking about the past, present, and future of Dance Dance Revolution. It includes an interview with Yasumi Takase, Director of the DDR series. The article hints at the possibility of multiple title announcements at E3, as well as the possibility of future online compatibility.
Thanks to Louie826 for the heads up. _________________

And while I didn't want to put this in the newspost itself, I'll point out that it's rather odd that they're discounting the idea of a domestic GF release. I hadn't heard any news about that at all. _________________

The hot spot for DDR fans in the United States is DDR Freak (www.ddrfreak.com), primarily maintained by webmaster Jason Ko. Founded on March 12, 2000 as a group for northern California DDR players, the gathering grounded a web presence that has turned into the place to go for the latest updates on the DDR games, tournaments and culture. |

Neither have I. We can't see the transcript of the interview but I bet the interviewer asked "So how about that GF/DM series? Its been awhile, eh?" |

Although I'm a strong GF player...no DM news?
Oh well, that's what E3's for. Hey, maybe Konami went crazy and made some USA(squared)/2 mix or something that was like a domesticated Extreme...ahh I dream too much.
But we can't deny all this recent DDR news, now can we? |

Sounds like good news to me.
Ultramix 2 sounds like a possibility and maybe a DDR Party Collection US? Also it sounds like EXTREME and all future mixes may be online compatible.
Looks like DDR for the US is headed in the right direction. I can't wait for E3 heh. _________________

Actually, you have to be 18 AND a member of the press.
Yet another perk of working here. Shame I won't be going _________________

It's actually someone they interviewed. I believe it's some girl. The article writer wouldn't be stupid enough to say something like that. _________________

No, it wasn't someone they interviewed, it was a direct quote from the current "omg where are teh DD-arr gurls" thread. And, if I remember correctly, it was a female who made that comment. |
