Does this PS -> PC converter work for Stepmania?

Well, I heard stories of people buying adapters that wouldn't work for PC/stepmania.. And I wanna know first before I fall a victim of it. I recently bought a metal pad off BNS.. when DDRFreak was down, so I could not check to see which adapter was the best, so I just threw one in there.

I bought the BNS Single PS to PC Link Cable (LPT/Printer Port)

Does that thing work for stepmania? And how well? And how well will it work with a metal pad that I also bought from BNS? (I bought the one with no bar)

Any comments and tips and suggestions and what-not are appreciated. Thanks in advanced.
