I was watching the credits for DDR Extreme (so sad...*sniff*) and it said that DDR began April 10, 1998 (4/10 is also my b-day maybe im destined...hehe). I think DDR Freak or sumbody hold a big celebration for it (not me..im only 13 as of now, 14 on 4/10). It would be cool. Just an idea... _________________

That's cool. Is that real? That's awesome! I knew it was in 1998, but I didn't know the exact date. _________________

Haha, I thought 1998 meant the year DDR was at its prime popularity in Japan. Interesting, so it began in 1998. |

Are you sure you don't mean April 10th, 1999, which is when the home version of the 1st mix came out? DDR didn't appear in arcades until Fall of 1998. |

I thought it was out in 1995 aswell. Maybe they meant like when it got REALLY popular in Japan, and created new mixes.
I don't know, I'll figure this out. |

20 november WAS the artist's birthday. See this quote from gamefaqs written by Neil Hughes.
http://db.gamefaqs.com/coinop/arcade/file/dance_dance_revolution_lyrics.txt
Quote: | 3.2 - Reo Nagumo (DJ Naguero)
Born on 20th November (Yeah, makes sense now, doesn't it?), Reo Naguma's early work on the beatmania series may be forgotton, but has still left a permanant mark on the DDR series. A car loving composer from Japan, Reo was contracted to provide music for the early beatmania titles, playing a large part in it's initial success.

I have no idea where you guys got 1995 from, but I am pretty sure DDR wasn't around then (or if so, it was in its infancy in some alpha version).
I can't confirm the april 10, 1998 but that makes sense. I have heard tons of talk about 1998 being DDR's birth year. Also, the FAQ said that there was a 0.5 Mix BEFORE first mix that toured around Japan in 1998.
I can't vouch for the FAQ's accuracy, but you can look at it for yourself with the url link. _________________

if it was 1998 then that would give the SONG 1998 a bit of importance. _________________

Which has nothing to do with the release date of DDR. That was a Beatmania song before DDR was even in arcades. _________________
