Ok guys, I was thinking of this last night. This is for you people who roleplay using the Dungeons and Dragons/d20 system.
I was wondering, for those who know the system, and as a DM, to ask for opinions.
Here is the details of what I've come up with.
According to my storyline, the basic "DDR system" has been taken over by an underground group of negotiators. When my party comes to a machine, they'll be put to play on a "random only machine," basically "random" can only be selected.
The character rolls d100, randomly choosing a song (100 = DM's choice). The song comes up, and the song ultimatly begins. The character must make a Concentration check (DC according to song, not much, like 10-15) or you "bar rape," adding a plus of 1-5 to the DC of future checks.
As the song progresses, the character must make 3 Dexterity checks, one for the beginning, middle, and end of song. If you fail the Dexterity checks, you must make a Fortitude save, or take subdual damage (i'm thinking 1d4-1, or -2, per level of song) If you fail 2 Dexterity checks, you fail the song.
Tell me what you think! I appreciate it. _________________

I've always liked the d20 system better, but I'll play both. Your idea sounds...interesting. Find out a way to actually play DDR during a game session and it would be great! |

Hay! i gotta better idea for a game, why not... play DDR! Ya, you can go to the arcade, OR be daring and do it in some1'd house on there Ps2 or XBOX! Ya, and then you can have YOUR REAL SELF go and play games, and you can ACTUALLY BAR RAPE if you choose. You can do you dice rolling thing, but that would just get in the way.
To sum it all up, WTF ARE YOU THINKING MORON!? _________________

he's talkinga bout integrating it to a regular dungeons & dragons game.
i'm sure he plays ddr in the arcade or on a home system too. it isn't supposed to be a replacement. _________________

I have a feeling that if the world suddenly ended and all the ddr machines/ all the PS2s got busted and the only people left on this earth were us. We would worship this man as a god.
but....until then... _________________

I agree totally. I've stepped away from playing those games for now (got too easy, characters got too strong lol). But yeah, if you could expand on that a little more, then yeah I think it could work. Just expand on the idea. |
