I have soft-pad mats on a hardwood floor. Needless to say, they slide around alot, but I can move myself with the mat enough to stay in position. Playing doubles, however, is an entirely different story. The mats will start out lined up, but end up in all kinds of discombobulated positions halfway through a song. So my question is how to keep the mats together so they don't so they don't slide/turn apart/into each other.

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but the forum's search query thingy isn't working for me so I'm making a new topic. I plea with the almighty admins not to curse this god-forsaken soul and locketh thy thread.

Get a big piece of cardboard and cut it the size of your 2 soft pads laying side by side (Leaving an 1 1/2 inch gap between the two). Use clear packing tape to tape the pads around and under the soft pad/cardboard layer. It is even nicer if you have plastic pad covers, such as the Red Octane ones. This will ennsure that both pads will stay side by side at all times, and the extra area dimensions will help the overall pad setup from moving.
