Is it considdered a big accomplishment to stealth an entire non-stop session? My friend stealthed the "road of slow" recently and I needed my own claim to fame. _________________

If you can stealth a course it just means you have good memory.
The only way to stealth a course legitimately is to do a nonstop since you can put any modifier you want on it, stealth included. I don't really buy into people playing oni with stuff covering the screen and saying they stealthed it.
My advice to you is to get better before you try stealthing any song since your just starting to get decent.
And unless your friend had proof of him doing it I would say he's lying. |

Why not? If you can't see the arrows and you complete the course, that's a stealth.
If you want proof that someone can (and has) stealthed an oni course, check out Red Chrono (10,000 Club). That guy has a video somewhere on here of him doing the World Tour course, but he fails on Japan in that video. He's passed the course before, but that's the only video he's got so far.
And he uses a bigass dark blue towel. There is no way anyone is seeing through that thing, so none of that. |

In your opinion.
The way I see it, stealthing requires the stealth modifier to be on, and since it's not availiable in oni play then you can't really stealth an oni course.
It's not that I don't believe people can pass oni courses without seeing the arrows, it's just that they're just playing with something that covers up the screen instead of having the actual modifier on.
I'm sure that sounds stupid to alot of people so don't let it bother you. |

I can that you are trying to take the context of "stealthing" and only make it relative to where it came from, the modifier stealth. However, what does stealth do? It makes it so you can't see the arrows. So, any mode where you can't see the arrows should be considered stealth. _________________

Hell yeah! We do that with our hands to mess with ppl sometimes (but not on Oni courses...that's just mean). |

Now if we could just get the other mods working with towels, like speed and reverse...there's nothing that those towels can't do! _________________

Wouldn't it kinda be considered stealth and dark? both the arrows and the arrow slots are invisible. If you complete, you can say that and sound better . _________________

Here's a better way to see it... if the machine doesnt call it stealth... you cant get any official credit for it... if you use a towel... you get street cred. _________________

Yeah it's more of a pet peeve I have than anything.
After thinking about what stealthing actually is I guess I can get over it and accept the fact that if someone plays an oni without bieng able to see the arrows then it is a stealth. |

I'd play the song many times over, repeating the step's name in my head as they go, then playing parts with my eyes closed. That's how I can do R3 _________________

I'd consider stealthing a nonstop an accomplishment. Obviously the harder the better. Stealthing a nonstop over an oni has a few advantages:
1) Obviously, you can mess around with mods. Mirror, stealth, dark, etc. Big advantage, because when myself and Brigg did our respective oni courses, we couldn't even see the "perfect! great!" thing flashing (which does help a lot).
2) You've got more room for error. You CAN get 4,5 goods in one song and keep going and finish stealthing the course. Not gonna happen in an oni.
3) Only 4 songs to memorize. Onis are at LEAST 5.
Really, I think stealthing anything is an accomplishment (unless its R3, nah jp) _________________

Having AA'ed trick butterfly on stealth dark, my next stealthing task is Dam Dariam on Heavy, in an attempt to stealth dancemania -nonstop-. If anyone can give me some tips on song memorization, it would be greatly appreciated. (butterfly was easy as the song loops step-wise) _________________
