I don't know, but when I see an old mix or here old songs(some of them are really good) it seems that they are really old, like they are the eighties of ddr music.

Oh, we need a disco megamix of DDR, (there are a lot of good songs in disco)

Are you talking about those songs by Duran Duran or the songs from 2 Unlimited? Please reply, over! Thanks!

Not just licensed stuff. There's a bunch of 80's sounding stuff, like Flash in the Night as a good example.

i think he's getting to more of the idea that the relationship between, say, 1st-3rd mix stuff (ba kkwo, boom boom dollar, other songs), and 8th mix stuff (sakura, LoM) is analogous to the relationship between 80's music and 2000's music.

but i do agree that there are a lot of 70's/80's songs on ddr....duran duran items (ordinary world, reflex), earth, wind, and fire (let's groove), some really old stuff (smoke....it was old, believe it or not), bad girls, kung fu fighting, shake your booty, gotcha, we are the champions/we will rock you....

although whenever i'm on a 5th mix...man i always feel the urge to hit Enter the Dragon, just b/c it's not on a later mix...and because it rocks....

WHERE'S THE BOOM BOOM DOLLAR???????

The Discoman speaks truth uncanny to that of Honest Abe.
The songs are kind of old but that tells you how long DDR has been around and how much it's grown. You should be proud of this!!

Just to keep it real with old school hits i pop in DDR Konamix time after time to relive the originals. I'm not sure Konamix is that old but it sounds like it!

Flash in the Night is licensed ya know...

As for a Discomix...well, I'd be cool with that.

Is Synchronized Love an 80's song (or a remix thereof)? It sounds really 80-ish to me...

Is it just me, or does it sound like Cher sings that song?

Personally, I don't like all those 80's-ish songs. Like Teh Reflex. They're too long and... goog.gif

I'm sure a lot of people would like a Discomix, though.

Case and point, the lyrics:

It's got to be your love
The only love I call
And you're
You are the angel of my life

It's got to be my heart
Being beside you all night long, and oh
I wanna be closer to you, my love
Until the day I die
I'll be your everything
Hey, whoa oh whoa oh-oh (whoa oh whoa oh-oh)
Whoa oh oh oh!

Let's go!
Won't you take my hand
And I will be your man
So tonight will come
Dance the night away

One and one is two
Don't you be so cruel
Synchronized love is what we've got to do

All the time, we'll be together
Cos yours and mine
Forever we're in this love

Won't you take my hand
And I will be your man
So tonight will come
Dance the night away

One and one is two
Don't you be so cruel
Synchronized love is what we've got to do

All the time, we'll be together
Cos yours and mine
Forever we're in this love, babe

I was just wondering if Long Train Runnin was from the 80's as well.

I believe that Long Train Runnin' is a remix of a '70s song. Isn't it by Earth, Wind, and Fire or is that some other song?

Long Train Runnin' was originally done by the Doobie Brothers. I don't know what Earth, Wind, and Fire did.

I'm pretty sure that Earth, Wind, and Fire did Let's Groove, if I'm not mistaken...

You are correct.

Long Train Runnin' in DDR is done by a European rap group called Bus Stop, famous for making their own versions of a lot of popular songs (e.g. Kung Fu Fighting, Kick the Can). The original LTR was (as mentioned) done by the Doobie Brothers. The lyrics are different in both versions too E15.gif
