well i just bought a new ps2 adapter like tha 1 at buynshop (the 2 player one) but it doesnt let me press 2 bottons at the same tyme. i read that u hafta push ''start+select+up'' to start up ''dance mode''. well i dont know when im supposed to push it. If someone could help....itd b appreciated

do it when it's plugged in (duh) and make sure you are holding it for 3 seconds. check http://www.ddrfreak.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=83329

I have the exact same adapter as you. It works flawlessly with no lag. I discovered that u should press start+select+up after logging into windows. In fact, i dont need to hold for 3 seconds, just pressing all 3 for a split seconds and allow me to bind arrows to buttons, allowing me to press 2 arrows at the same time.

The best way to check that it is working
1. Install included drivers from disk.
2. Go to start->settings->control panel->game controllers.
3. There should be 2 for each port on the usb adapter
4. Select the appropriate game controller for the port you are connected to.
5. Press Start+select+Up for 3seconds (0.5 sec for me).
6. Look on the calibration screen for the button being pressed and the axis moving. If the button indicator lights up, your all set.
7. Go into stepmania and map the new "buttons" to the appropriate keys.
8. DANCE!

When I play SM, i usually press start+select+up when sm is loading, i use the arrows on my pad to test on the menu to see if i did it right. (100% working all the time!)
