I wonder why no one made a big deal about it sooner. Maybe hardly anyone has the game until tomorrow and Saturday?

I'll buy this when I get the chance. Altough I think they went a little far in using the unlockable Pop N' 8 songs as repeats, like Jet World and Swish, even though I like them.

So from looking at the song list, theres no repeats from before Pop N' 8? How is the song select orginized? It's not like the arcade version I am guessing, with each version having it's own list.

What is Osusume mode? How is it different from Challenge and Battle?

I don't like the box art. It has this creepy feeling to it....

Few repeats from earlier versions, mostly new stuff though.
Osusume gives you 4 random questions from about 100 and then gives you songs based on your answers, don't understand the questions though

I believe Osusume mode is basically asks you a set of 5 (or was it 4?) questions about your skill and other stuff (interests, and stuff). Then the game creates a course of 3 songs based on those answers. If you can't read a lick of Japanese, don't bother with this mode (unless you want to hear Mimi talk, which sounds weeeeeird). Your Clear meter though is larger (like, by the time you get to the 2nd or 3rd song, you can have 1/2 a bar, and clear the song).

Unlocking takes a LOT longer too, we have like 20 hours played on this game and still only 50% of Gambler Z mode is unlocked. Plus, there's no "set" pattern of unlocking anymore.

Jet World is available off the bat, as well as Swish.

Song list is organized in rows, you can switch between rows:
AC (all AC songs, secret and ee'mall), CS, Secret (AC/CS/ee'mall), license, and All. All the songs from previous Mixes are in their respective categories as well (i.e. CS8 songs are also in the CS category).

Battle mode games are GREAT. Baseball mode now has more speeds based on when you hit the ball (not just fast and slow). There's a racing one, where you mash the HELL out of the blue button, and then there's a weird BIG ball one, which is all, hold-the-blue-button-until-your-character-goes-backwards-then-let-go. And the no Ojama levels are much better.

I LOVE the song selections on here (Colors and Jet Coaster Girl = sex).

EX is a 39.

It's an ee'mall song, so I suppose that means that you have to unlock it.

Pop'N 9 is great. Having only played 8 and 7 thoroughly before getting my copy of 9 in, WHEEE.
I LOVE the Gambler Z unlock system... a lot.

The genre sorting is awesome and so much more effecient than Pop'N 8's method. Both work, but 9's is quicker.

If Colors' genre is Trance, what happens to Foundation of Our Love? I know that's not on Pop'n 9 CS, but this is the very first time they've ever used the same genre twice without adding a "2" next to it. Unless Colors is called Trance 2 or something....

The genre's from crossover songs are the genre's that are given on the original game (i.e. on IIDX, Linus is Lounge Pop, Colors is Trance, as well as Foundation of Our Love, etc). It's kinda silly really.

EX of Colors is NOT unlockable off the bat. My friend has 94% unlocked, incl. Colors, but the EX hasn't been unlocked yet (so we're guessing, that's where one of the remaining 6% is, since it's not unlockable via EX stage either).

Can someone please explain to me what Pop'n Cafe is, and how it works? Where exactly in the game can I find it?

Aside from that, this game is loads of fun, but damn Gambler Z takes a long time. So far my favs are Choco Pop, Hyper Jpop2, Peach Idol, Somebody stole my gal

Colors is awesome. Trance is the Genre. You'll know when you have it. Colors also makes Tran a selectable character. ... Kinda sucks when you get to Tran and she challenges you to Colors EX with normas on...
