You got PWNED: The DDR Movie Proposal...

With all these movies like Drumline and You Got Served out, why aren't they making a DDR movie? I can see it right now...

Inner-city kids playing DDR at the local arcade, lil punk-arse noobs come in and challenge them, inner cityies get beat, come back later, play an immensely hard song, kick the punk-arse's buttocks. And that's about as far as i've run with the idea...Pls reply, im lonely...

I don't think that will be a great idea. DDR could be incorporated into a movie, but a whole movie on ddr. There is a documentary of ddr out which is over an hour in length. But this is very different than a movie.

With that much geek-talk (noob, pwned and such) in the movie title and description, I seriously doubt it would appeal to people that are out of "Geek culture", or "DDR culture" for that matter. And as we all know, them Hollywood guys won't make a movie on a topic on which they won't make that much money. And to get money, they'll need to get people interested. And we all know that, sadly, the vast majority of people are not that much interested in DDR. So therefore, a movie on this won't be profitable for them just yet...

Yeah, I know...It just seems that now that they're making all these underground street-culture sports movies, they probably have thought of doing DDR once...Then they laughed at that guy and fired him.

I'm actually writing a book right now called "Dancing on the Vegas Strip" about a tournament in Las Vegas worth 100 grand but the DDR is incorporated into where they are going though relationships and so on are caught in it all. It's not all like "yo sucka you got served"

They did try to make one. It was called Dance Machine. The script was pretty strong and I thought it'd actually make it, but when they tried to pitch it to possible investors to get the required money it just didn't fly to them.

How about a better movie:

"The Fall of Bemani"

It could cover the life of a young boy making waves in the DDR community during the Bemani phase a few years ago. Then when it all dies and other games like Pop'N and Taijestu No Tojin (Cough cough, too lazy to check spelling/pronounciation) steal DDR's thunder he makes a huge trip to North America to follow the wave and truly impress people.

And in the end he can die on a balcany with an M16 and mounted grenade launcher blowing away Cubans as the cocaine flows through his body. Oh yeah, I can see it right now....

I was actually just thinking of this, and I think it would be an awesome idea, but chances are it would be very far from the actual DDR machine, it would be something more like "Bring It On" or something. Then as a joke they would have some nerd playing a DDR Machine in it, and they would make fun of him.
