I was just talking about this with a friend, and I'm sure there's some great stories..so i was curious..what made you roll on the ground laughing when you were out ddring?

We had some downtime in a tourney, so BemaniFreak and I took advantage of the event mode to attempt and AAA our favorite song together (Be In My Paradise)..after trying about 6 times (and resetting once we both had a great)..another friend of ours came in, saw what was going on, and was like "it's not that hard, treat it like a normal song". So we play again, I got a great early, but kept trying because i knew he hadn't gotten one yet. We get to the last part (where the music runs up the scale and the infamous jump comes) and he says "see, it wasn't that hard". BemaniFreak raised his arms in the air, jumped......AND GOT A GREAT!....oh the 6 or so people (including me) laughed and laughed and laughed so hard...the next time i played it (a few minutes later after i stopped laughing), i AAAed it, and he now hates my guts forever (just kidding :O)

Start telling biggrin.gif

for some strange reason, i was sitting on a chair on the right side of the pad and my friend was playing heavy doubles. halfway into the song, he slipped off the pad and kicked me in the shin! i dont know why but that made me laugh so damn hard. i was litterally on the floor and there was a crowd. laugh.gif

A bunch of people who apparently have never played DDR before sat there staring at me when I was done. It was kinda funny, they were probably just thinking ".......eh, what?"

I was playing doubles with Kajet and he thought it would be easy, so he played Frozen Ray on Heavy. At one part it shifts back to the left pad with a left arrow. When he stepped he hit the very edge of the pad, slipped, and landed flat on his face. Oh ya, and failed the song because we both couldn't get up laughing.

A lot of funny stuff happens here at our DDR places. Most of it have nothing to do with DDR, though...most of it is the broken ceiling fans, or this guy who always appears out of nowhere, doesn't talk, and then leaves. But you never see him come or go. He's just...there.

You'd have to be there to think it's funny.

Well, I thought that all the funny things were funny to the non-DDRers, but I thought up of one.

There were four girls playing www.BlondeGirl on light, each one with one arrow apiece. And failed the song before the lyrics 'To be a Blonde Girl...'

Some regular DDRers decided it would be hilarious to play www.BlondeGirl on doubles since it was their first time to play doubles. So, they got on the pad, one on one side, the other on the other side. It would be hilarious to the other people watching it, as they failed the song.

Hmmm...funniest thing for me so far was when I was at the arcade playing versus with a friend of mine, we were in the midst of some song (I wish I could remember which one, but I can't) and it got to a point that sounded just like it was the ending (and it had been going on long enough I thought...and there hadn't been any arrows on screen for a second) so I step off the pad to retrieve a bottle of water from my coat when my friend suddenly yells at me that the song is still going. Completely surprised I instictively jump back onto the pad and only manage to miss 3 or 4 arrows...I was really laughing my buttocks off afterwards...hoo boy...

Although I didn't find it very funnny, most other people watching me did. I had just finished the second song in smoe nonstop course, and so I went to tie my shoe on the speakerbox as it was really messing me up. I couldn't tie fast enough, and in my effort to jump back ontio the pad, I tripped over the corner, stumbled backwards, landed onto a friend of mine who spilled his drink frust.gif

i didn't see this one, but i was told about it. Toastercookie had played bimp (strange how bimp brings funny moments), and AAAed it, so he got off to get his camera, and forgot about the last jump E9.gif true red flag...he told me that and i lolled. (and he still hasn't AAAed it)

Hm... I cant think of that much really. Except for the one time when I was still on light mode and fell off of the pad during Can't Stop Falling In Love. But I fell off during the phrase "cant stop falling" so yeah good laughs there.

hrmm... I have some competition here! I fell off the pad playing Can't Stop Fallin' in Love Speed Mix. However, I lost my balance at the part with the insane tappathon part. I fell straight on my face, but I immediately got pack up and continued playing. I got an E, but it was the best moment of my life.....

When I was filming parts for my DDR documentary almost a year ago, someone was playing Ska A Go Go, and the video on Extreme has a dog at one point, and some rockets after that, so he yelled "Oh no, the rocket's gonna kill the dog!!"

On a road trip to a tournament, my brother, four of my friends, and I were playing DDR 3rd Mix CS (on controller) on Training Mode and we were slowing all the songs down with the speed option. We picked Oh Nick Please Not So Quick and put on on speed 2 or 3... enough said.

On another road trip to another tournament, my brother, four of my friends, (one of the ones from the tournament mentioned above didn't go, and another one who couldn't go to the other tournament came to this one) and I were playing Random Oni on DDRMAX2 CS, (on controller once again) and we got some crazy mod combonations, like Kakumei Oni with stealth and reverse, and Rain of Sorrow Standard with 3x and sudden. (I think.. it's been a while) Later, when we were driving back from the tournament, we sang the DDRMAX Nonstop Megamix on the way home.

And of course there are the times with "What is a snake?" (you'll know what this means if you've played Changes on IIDX) and freestyling on Guitar Freaks...

One funny moment involving DDR is when I went to CSU Sacramento to play, my other player decided to play "It's Raining Men". all of a sudden, the guys that were watching us were acting like gay guys!! You know saying what a gay guy does. I started to crack up! I ended up failing because of the distraction. Nothing wrong with gay people.

And at tournys in the Bay Area, everybody acts hella silly. That where all of the funny moments happen involving DDR.

There was this brat at the bowling alley that tends to be there whenever I am disgust.gif and he was annoying us all night. He's a friggen l33t 7th grader that is getting C's on 7 footers and thinking he's the greatest thing ever. So for his last song my friend Blaze goes through the song selection and picks Rhythm and Police on Heavy for him. laugh.gif He was sooooooooo pissed and it was funny to watch him bar rape his way into failure! One time I was at the bowling alley and I thought I would play doubles for the first time, because they have joint premium. So, I played I for my last song I picked Hero (Happy Grandle Mix)light. Half way through I go to the far left get the left arrow and when I went to step I missed and hit the ground on my butt. I hurried up and finished the song with a C. After I was done I locked behind me to see if anyone was watching and no was. (Thank God there was no one watching).
