I guess it doesn't really affect me but I only herd about ddr in like 2002 and didn't really get into it till late last year... anyway are there still comps going on in japan? Are new mixes still coming out? Or is DDR pretty much done over there? And if it is when did it sorta reach its peak? |

This has been discussed before, but ddr is dying in japan. Other bemani games are becoming more popular.
That's why i switched to piu which has a future. Plus I love to freestyle...weeeee! |

There have been no announcements of a new DDR mix in Japan. DDR Extreme for JPS2 just came out, and I think they either released or will release a "Party Mix" or something. I can't remember the exact name. Anyways, no arcade mix has been announced. Some think that it signals the end of DDR in Japan, while others say that they are merely taking a break and will bring it back out with some new innovations. _________________

piu is short for pump it up, a horrible rip off of DDR with NO future what so ever. _________________

Dunno... KaZaA some vids of people playing PIU. PIU = arrows on corners. Pretty wierd.... or not. As for IIDX and Pop'N and stuff, I think I'll have to wait for PS3 before I can play any of those... I don't own PS2, sadly. My friends STILL make fun of me. |

Yup, and that's why we haven't had any information about a new DDR mix for the arcades in over a year, while we do have information about another new Pump mix. And didn't PIU Prex 3 come out after DDR Extreme?

If they plan to do that, they're gona have to improve a hell of a lot if they want it to look better then even DDR max1.. I live with Dancing Stage and to be honest, the US would be a lot better off without it.
And all the Pump it up bashers, stfu and grow up _________________

I'm sure if it was sold for profit, Konami would clamp down on it (I'm sure it's a matter of time before they clamp down on ITG).[/quote]

Well..I see most of you don't like piu. But I do. I mean plus it's REALLY big in Korea. That's why I believe it has a future..I play beatmania sometimes. But it has killed ddr..damn you bm..
But hopefully konami will make more ddr mixes, who knows. |

I think Pump has more of a future than DDR with Premire 3 coming out last year, then Prex 3 and then a new mix coming out in a few months (this month?) |
