Can somebody help me with this? steps are off just a bit.

Here's the deal. I'm using stepmania alpha 3.9.
I'm using a Cobalt Flux Dance Pad.
I'm using a EMS USB2 converter.

It works fine, with one exception.
There appears to be some time between when I step on the arrow and when stepmania recognizes it. Is there a way I can fix this? Thanks.
