|
|
hi, i'm new here..i've been looking to post this one on one of the sub-forums, but there isnt really a "technical assistance" one, so i'll post it here and hope it doesnt get locked
I'm just getting into DDR, and i'm trying to build myself a PC version that will work fluidly.
I want my pads to work thru USB, so here is the adapter i've picked out. has anybody had experience with it? it says it can handle combo moves, and it has 2 pad slots. that's what i want to do, have 2 pads to work with, so i can do VS with other people
http://www.buynshop.com/productinfophp3/VG-PS-USB2X1
in addition, i'm planning on using these pads :

anybody see a problem with this setup, or have suggestions for me??
also, what "official" versions of DDR are out for the PC, just the original? I've already downloaded stepmania.
I've now found this as well. They *Seem* to be the same thing, but i can get it for a ton cheaper at this online store. (Like 20 BUCKS cheaper)

I know i heard they ship from japan, but shipping will actually be cheaper than the store in the first post. @#$ decisions!
please help a desperate man out. |

The only place I've seen the ddr pc is here: http://www.redoctane.com/redpadddrpcems.html
You can get the game, pad, cover, and usb adaptor for like $80. I know Fry's has the ddr pc game too, but they might not be in your area. |

thanks for the info. thats good and all, but IF everything i've posted is good stuff, i can get the PC version of DDR, the adapter, and two pads for less than 60 bucks. Total. including shipping. just wanted to know if anybody out there has had experience with any of these items. |

Just use stepmania and download the official bumper packs from www.ddruk.com (note: must register and have bittorrent to download)
You'll get every offical DDR song and it's offical steps.
From what I've heard, DDRPC really sucks. I've tried a demo, and from how it plays, I agree.
Good luck.

Good luck with everything working out - The PC version (or using your PC with stepmania) has been a blast for me - even though I have only started on it since Christmas.
I purchased 2 pads and a USB converter from levelsix.com for around 71.00 including shipping. |

dont worrk about yourlevel six pad... i modded mine before i used it and its been working for 8 mo. and counting.... get a chair mat from office max or something and cut it out to fix on top of the foam insert. I'm not gonna get to in depth but if you need help check out the soft pad forum... you'll see the mod i'm talking about. _________________
