make sure you instal the software before you plug it in or your gonna waste alot of time trying to figure out what you did wrong

I'm guessing Mac OS X users stick to USB Overdrive?

actually, in my experience, the EMS USB2 adapter works as an HID without drivers when you plug it in (in Win2k and XP, at least)

Worked fine the other way for me. I plugged it in, and it said "New Hardware Detected", etc. etc. Then I put in the disc, and it automatically installed the drivers, and it said so.
