Is there a chart somewhere out there that tells which ddr pads are compadible with which psx-->usb adaptors? Or could someone tell me whether or not a "metal red-octane pad with led lights" is compadible with "PS joy converter" by "boom"? I know that on the Stepmania web site it says "..highest compadibility..", but that only means most, not all. Thanks for any help you can provide |

all DDR pads function as playstation controllers. The only issue is whether the pads draw too much power for the adapter to supply. As long as the adapter description doesn't mention voltage problems and your pad isn't listed at the bottom as drawing too much voltage, you'll be okay. |

why do you suggest that converter, fmuthpaintball? I've seen a lot of threads complaining about the "ems usb 2", Plus the stepmania website recommended the "ps joy converter usb". Do you have any unknown information? |

I have the EMS USB2 and my lady friend also has it. It works great and is very reliable. I works well with any ddr pad I have plugged into it (CF,RO metal, Soft pads off ebay, Konami pad, and some pad from EB). I pretty much have had no problems with it and it works with pretty much all pads. IM me using AIM if you want to talk with me about it(my SN is fmuthpaintball) _________________

I had problems with EMS. It reads my ps2 controllers just fine, and I still use it for my emulators. As for dance pads, worthless. I know some of them work, and if you have the patience to send it back and forth til one works, go for it. Does it hafta be a double? _________________

I've used lots of different pads (including a BNS metal pad with lights) with my boom converter and it worked perfectly. I hardly even had to install it too; I plugged it in, ran sm, and it worked. I can't speak for red octane, but I think you're pretty safe. _________________

If you're looking at getting a metal pad by RedOctane, why not buy their PC Adapter?
http://www.redoctane.com/controlboxpc.html
It's $25, and is guaranteed to hook the metal pad to your comp... That and you'd only pay shipping once... |

To be honest, I don't know. I'll find out tomorrow when their tech support lines are open... |
