Pressing an arrow on my cobalt flux causes SM to crash.

I tried not configuring any keys, and my dance pad doesn't work for stepmania. I tried to go to configure the key. When I choose a diaganol, it configures it and it works. When I step on the left, down, right, or up arrow, Stepmania crashes. I am using Stepmania 3.0, Windows XP, and the Radioshack PSX-USB converter. Please help me. Thanks...

i'd reccommend HIGHLY to upgrade to 3.9.
