ok...im gonna try and gather info about each persons comp to try and see whats wrong wif it and wat causes the lag issue....

1st about stepmania...I have charcters and animations and visualizations and all that in the background...so that might have sumthing to do wif it...
I also tried not assigning the keys to the joypad instead and just put the joypad for numbers 8,6,4, and 2. and it still lagged...not sure why...btw, I was using joy2key and theres no lag for me with joy2key when I use it on my desktop...just sharing that info..and ive tried cvs and 3.7 alpha..and tried dwi with no results...stil about a 1/4 of a second lag...which causes a lot of goods and greats

and about what im running...its windows xp...not sure wat edition and all that...and its an hp xl766...and I tried running almost no progs at all while running stepmania or dwi...no results...

and about the pad...its a cobalt flux pad...I also tried different controllers and theres still lag...I think it has sumthing to do with stepmania...since theres no lag when im pushing up down left and right on my desktop w/ joy2key running

anymore info from other people like this would be appreciated so I can try and fix this...thanks...

I have the same pad as you and the same adapter, and the same problem. It lags bad and causes goods/greats.

ok ya, I FIXED THE EMS USB 2 LAG ISSUE. All I did was remap up down left and right in joy2key to 4,6,8, and 2. And then in stepmania, I made sure that on the control mapping thing, that joy12 or watever joy?? wasnt anywhere there...And then I took off the background animations and visualizations and stuff, and then took off the dancing characters and then BAM no more lag =)...hope someone else tries it and tells me what happened
