the blue gamewave thing...would that work?...connect it to the front com port thingy in the front of the cf and go straight to the controller port...?

Well it is in the CF manual

"Important: DO NOT use the Cobalt Flux Platform with PSX ->SERIAL converters. These have been known to permanently damage the control box. Only use PSX->USB converters if you plan on using them. You have been warned."

So, I wouldnt trust that thing.
